Phone Advice
  • Time Commitment: 2-hour shift
  • Service Level: Advice only

  • Description: VLN schedules up to 4 clients for the volunteer to call during a monthly phone advice shift. Legal advice given on a wide gamut of employment law issues, including unemployment compensation. Volunteers are not asked to advise on workers compensation or labor law.
Limited Services
  • Time Commitment: 1-3 hours
  • Service Level: Limited services
  • Experience Required? No
  • Description: Assist clients with wage demand letters or personnel file request letters to former employers.
Full/Extended Services
  • Time Commitment: 3+ hours, varies
  • Service Level: Full/extended rep
  • Experience Required? Some preferred
  • Description: VLN does not provide full representation on fee generating cases, but at times there are full rep employment law cases that need placement with an attorney, such as helping a client that can’t read or write file a Complaint with the EEOC.
