Unemployment Compensation Appeals Phone Advice
  • Time Commitment: 1-2 hours
  • Level of Service: Advice-only

  • Description: Provide phone advice to clients going through unemployment compensation telephone appeal hearings and reconsideration request appeals. VLN does not assist in unemployment compensation appeals to the Court of Appeals.
Unemployment Compensation Appeals Extended Services
  • Time Commitment: 5-10 hours (varies)
  • Service Level: Full/extended representation
  • Experience required: None
  • Description: Represent a client in unemployment compensation telephone appeal hearings and/or reconsideration request appeals. VLN does not assist in unemployment compensation appeals to the Court of Appeals.
DHS Disqualification Appeals
  • Time Commitment: 1-2 hours per case
  • Service Level: Advice only
  • Experience required: Yes, some experience with DHS disqualifications required.
  • Description: Clients have received a disqualification notice from DHS. Attorneys will review the underlying basis for the disqualification, and advice the client on 1) whether or not they think a reconsideration request is generally viable, 2) how to request reconsideration, and 3) preview the reconsideration process.
