Housing Program Part-Time Contract Attorney
About Us
Volunteer Lawyers Network (VLN) is a non-profit civil legal services organization grounded in the belief that everyone deserves access to justice. We use the power of volunteer lawyers to provide free civil legal services to those who otherwise would not have an attorney. We partner with, volunteers, courts, other advocates, and partners to help individuals facing housing instability get the legal support they need. Our team is compassionate, collaborative, and deeply committed to giving people a compassionate hand up in difficult situations.
What You’ll Do:
- Represent clients in eviction, repair, and eviction expungement cases.
- Provide legal services at Housing Court clinics in Hennepin, Ramsey, and Anoka Counties.
- Ensure clients receive high-quality, trauma-informed support.
- Maintain accurate case data.
- Participate in team meetings.

Qualifications
- J.D. and license to practice law in Minnesota.
- 3-5 years of litigation experience
- Strong writing and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to public interest work.
- Ability to work in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Zoom.
Compensation/Benefits
- Independent Contractor rate of $65 per hour, up to 20 hours/week.
- No other benefits are offered with this contract position.
