Volunteer Lawyers Network offers free legal help by phone, online, and through in-person and online legal clinics to clients that qualify for help. To apply for help, please call the VLN Intake Line at (612) 752-6677, Monday through Thursday, between 10:00am and 1:00pm.

Courthouse Clinics

Legal Access Point (LAP) 

Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings. Doors open at 8:00am. First come, first served, and the clinic fills-up quickly

Family Law Clinic

Hours: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:30-11:30. Sign up at 8:00am.

Bankruptcy Clinic – St. Paul

Hours: Second Thursday of the month, 11:00pm-1:00pm. First come, first served. Clients strongly encouraged to arrive by noon as the final consultation must start by 12:30pm and if there are no clients by noon, the attorney will leave early.

Park Avenue Legal Clinic – South Minneapolis

Hours: First through fourth Thursdays of the month. At 2:30pm, appointments between 3:00pm and 4:30pm are assigned based on capacity and case type– not in order of arrival. Please do not arrive before 2:30pm.
