Best Practices when Working with People – 1.5 Elimination of Bias credits
Presenter: Luci Russell, (they/them) BWS, MSW, LGSW
Bring your questions and experiences for an interactive introduction into working with people through the lens of providing legal aid to those in need. We’ll talk about what you bring to the table, how to work on establishing a rapport with clients quickly, and how lived experiences can impact the attorney/client relationship.
Presenter Bio:
Client Services Coordinator at Mid MN Legal Aid and the MN Disability Law Center
Luci has an BSW in general social work practice, and an MSW in clinical social work emphasizing working with people who have lived through adverse life experiences. They have provided client service and supervision at Mid MN Legal Aid for 17 year, and also volunteer providing brief therapy in English and Spanish at Walk-In Counseling Center. With training in trauma, family counseling, de-escalation and anger management they are ready to help you learn how to better connect with clients.
